What Causes Persistent Hematemesis?

Hello, about a week ago I started vomiting up blood. I went to the ER and the did all of the neccessary test such as CT scan, X-Ray and EKG. What I was told is that i had a bronchitis infection and I was given tesslan pills and the abertol pump. Well i still was expericning thick clogy blood after the ER vist so I went to my primary physician who said I had a sinus infection and ear infection and gave me antibotcs this was on Thurday today is Tuesday and I m still having clogy blood come up not as much as last week but it is certainly still there. Should I be worried and head back to the ER?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of *vomiting blood and they did CT scan, X-ray EKG and told you that you have bronchitis and gave Tesslan at ER. The PCP told you about having sinus and ear infection and gave you antibiotic You still have clogy blood coming up.
What wonders me is your history of vomiting and not coughing out the blood and if you have been vomiting blood this is called hemetemesis and the cause can be a bleeding in the esophagus or stomach.
I would advise you the following:
Upper GI Endoscopy to see if you have esophageal varices, gastritis or ulcers in the stomach and first part of duodenum.
If your symptoms are related to the respiratory system, continue the same medicines and insist for a reference for an ENT Surgeon.
