What Causes Persistent Menstrual Pain During Periods?
Please help... I took a lot of pain relief to day for menstrual pain... currently... I do not have any cramping from menstrual pain however I am having a lot of pain in my stomach sort of like the pain you have when your hungry. It is preventing me from sleeping and has been persistent for 3 hrs.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. From the description you have given, it appears as though you are experiencing pain from gastric irritation. This can happen when gastritis occurs as a consequence of the analgesic medication you have consumed. You need to take antacid medication, bland diet and if needed, take antagonists of H2 receptors in the stomach to prevent acid secretion. Omeprazole group, ranitidine etc. are some useful drugs. In future avoid the analgesic medication that has triggered this reaction; if needed, use preventive antacid medication before taking the analgesic. Hope this helps.
