I have a wet or damp feeling in my right ear and the feeling of my eardrum moving in and out. Some discomfort but not real bad pain. Happens in evening hours mostly. I went to ENT and the ear looked good except for a little wax. The ENT cleared the wax and sent me on my way. My GP has treated me for this on different occasions with steroids, Flonase, Claritin, etc. I have some neck issues and have had neck fusion but this has not changed the ear issues. Help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent pressure in ears, well there can be many reasons for this such as wax build up , hearing loss , infection of ear , condition like meniere's disease , impacted tooth and temporomandibular joint problem . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , blood test , and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics , clean wax , prescribe supplement like ginkgo biloba and may refer you to oral surgeon if the problem is due to temporomandibular joint or impacted tooth. For now do warm saline gargles , take saline nasal drops , take steam 2-3 times a day and drink plenty of water to keep your self hydrate.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
