Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain raised bumps at the back of tongue can be swollen Circumvallate papillae that contains
taste buds and the small bumps over the sides are also inflamed fungiform papillae that too contains taste buds..
In case if you have
thrush over the tongue that is a
fungal infection it can be a potent cause for inflammation of the papillae..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case of thrush he can advise you antifungal medicines like
Nystatin outhwash and
clotrimazole lozenges for 15 days along with eating ample of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic..
As the infection will subside the papillae will also regress in size..
You can also do warm saline gargles and suck ice pops for reducing inflammation of papillae..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards,
