What Causes Persistent Severe In One Side Of The Head Near Ear?

Hello. On Saturday I was very busy at work. I chewed a gum for very long. At 3.oo I went for lunch ordered a starter. As soon as i opened to take a bite i got a very sharp pain on my right side head near the ear and i fainted. When i came round the pain was still there. But could not open my mouth wide. Just had glucose water and rested. Next day I was feeling much better. I could eat but the pain is still there till today which is the 5th day. What could it be? And for how long will I suffer with the pain?

thank you for sharing your complain,

dear friend according to your history the pain you suffered is most likely muscle/ligamental pain at mendibular joint which may commonly occure to many people. it gradually subsides in about 3-5 days. if severe and difficulty in chewing food you can take anagesic like ibuprofen or combination of ibuprofen with paracetamol twice a day. mostly it will relieve the pain.if severe you should consult and got examined by your family doctor first.

hope this answer will be helpful to you.
for more queries plz don't hassitate to ask.

get well soon dear friend
