What Causes Persistent Soreness In Throat With Redness In Eyes?
hi. my wife has had a sore throat for 2 weeks. she had a fever for the first 3 days. got rid of that.went to see the doctor and he prescribed cephalexin. it did get better. but now the soreness in her throat is back and she wakes up with eye buggers and her eyes get bloodshot
Noted the history about your wife having had fever that got settled within 3 days happening since 15 days, the soreness of throat recurred and now has buggers in eyes with redness. All this history is suggestive of one of the following things: Upper Respiratory tract infection that is recurring and may be super-added with allergic phenomenon. The nasal infection and allergy spreading to the eyes through the naso-lacromial ducts. Hence I would advise her the following: Consult an ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation, investigations and to get the correct line of management in the form of local nasal drops,. Oral decongestant and anti-inflammatory medicines. Antibiotic if needed. Second opinion of an EYE Surgeon if required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
