What Causes Persistent Tingling And Burning Sensation In Throat, Chest And Cough?

I constantly feel a tingle/burn in my throat/chest that makes me cough. It's alway one or two mild coughs at a time but it last throughout the day and not when I'm sleeping. Also after I drank water, I burp water back up. The cough has lasted off and on for about 6 months now? Any suggestions? I have been to a gastroeologist and had an upper endoscopy done and the results were negative.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the burning sensation in chest, throat and cough are consistent with the symptoms of acid reflux and although the endoscopy results were negative but the symptoms of burping, refluxing water up and burning are due to Acid reflux only..
I would suggest you to re-consult a Gastroenterologist as well as consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated..
They can repeat the investigations and look for the exact cause and treat you accordingly..
Treatment will be advised depending upon confirmation of cause..
I would suggest you to as of now take Proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole, antacid like Milk of Magnesia, take small frequent meals, avoid spicy and acidic foods, drink plenty of water, do moderate workout, take walk after meals and sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
