What Causes Persistent Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?
I am 56 yrs old recentlyhad sex witch was rugher then normal. afterwards I bled really hemmoriged very heavy with lots of clots, also have some back pain and cramping.seven days later im still wearing pad now its spotting whe I wipe its there my uterus looked ok and my iron levels are fine. my dr. thought maybe I popped an egg. what does that mean and what is your opinion..

You will have to spot out whether the bleeding is post-coital or menstrual.
There are various causes of post-coital bleeding. Common ones are: 1. cervical lesions- cervical erosion, cervical ectropion, polyp, cervical cancer or pre-neoplastic conditions 2. Endometrial lesions- polyp, hyperplasia, cancerous growth 3. vaginal lesions- infection/inflammation
You need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations like endometrial curettings, cervical curettings, etc.
The management can be planned after results of the investigations is obtained. Thank you.
