What Causes Persistent Vaginal Bleeding?

Ive had a surgical abortion 8 weeks ago. The bleeding stopped temporarily for 4-5 days about two weeks after the procedure. The bleeding then started back up around 1 month after the procedure and has continued since then. It is not heavy bleeding, and barely anything shows up on a sanitary napkin, but a tampon will be full of blood after a few hours. Also, there is very bright red blood EVERY time I wipe (not coming from anus), and sometimes small clots. I feel fine otherwise, no cramping or bloating. Does this sound normal? Should I continue to just wait it out ?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Bleeding for a longer period after D and C for abortion could be due to retained products if conception. Consult your doctor, take a pelvic scan to know whet6 there is any remaining products. If it is the case then it needs some medications to expel it out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
