I ve had a watery left eye for nearly a year. I thought that it may be due to a sinus infection exacerbated by an upper tooth abscess which was located adjacent to the sinus cavity. I ve recently had the tooth removed and have come off antibiotics but the eye has resumed watering. It feels slightly irritated and feels like it is closing up. My vision has not changed and there is no other discharge. Could my tear duct be blocked?
itis epiphora due to punctum occlusion or obstruction in nasolacrimal ductit is not related to sinositis or tooth abscess. they should be treated separatly after due examination and consultation with specific doctor.punctum dialatation and syringing should be done repeatedly level of obstruction should be detected after methyline blue in syringing and x-ray. if detected then dacrocysto rhinostomy is indicated tear secreation should be estimated with striptest and if deficiant puntum oclusion with surgery may be done.
