Hello,
You are advised to control your blood sugar level to prevent worsening of the symptoms. Wet cough is indicative of respiratory infection, heart condition (you are already on Aspavor) or lung condition. Gt clinically examined by an ENT or GP, get required tests and investigations done to diagnose the cause of wet cough and mucous. If need be, you will be referred to a cardiologist. Taking aspirin may also cause symptoms of
shortness of breath,
wheezing and worsening of nasal/sinus problems. This is seen in sensitive people.
Avoid taking cough suppressant when you have a wet cough. The cough is essential to moving mucus out of your lungs, where it’s interfering with breathing. Taking a cough suppressant when you have a wet cough may increase your risk of developing
pneumonia,
bronchiectasis, COPD etc., as it keeps the dirty mucus in your lungs and airways. Developing CHF, congestive
heart failure also causes shortness of breath, fatigue and swelling of the legs or feet.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
