What Causes Persisting Penis Discharge Despite Treatment?
Hello, I m a 23 yr old male who was treated for gonorrhea last Wednesday. I was tested and checked by a doctor and treated immediately due to small amount if discharge in penis. It it now a week later and my owe still contains white floating particles the look like seamen and I still have very small amounts of discharge. What could this mean?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I will keep a possibility of Non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU) as the cause of persisting discharge. While gonorrhea usually causes purulent discharge, NGU is mostly associated transparent, sticky discharge. The causative organisms for NGU commonly being chlamydia, mycoplasma and are usually acquired the same way as gonorrhea i.e unprotected sexual contact with an infected partner. Treatment of NGU is usually with either single dose Azithromycin Or Doxycycline, twice daily for a week I would suggest that you seek another appointment with your dermatologist and bring this concern of yours, to his notice.
Regards
