Hi I went to my family doc and have phlebitis under my right rib cage surface of skin 4-5 inch solid vein that travels down. I thought you only get in legs/arms? This seems close to lung should have went to ER instead?? Best advice?? Thank you for your time. Justin

It is commonly due to skin infection with virus or bacteria. So better to consult dermatologist and get done clinical examination of skin to rule out skin infection.
