What Causes Pigmentation Around The Mouth Of A Toddler With Fever?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...hi. I have a 4 year old son. He is white. A few days ago I noticed pinkish lines around his mouth and cheek. I thought it was just dirty but it wouldn t come off. Also wondered if baby sister scratched him but he doesn t remember. Anyway now it has turned brown. Looks kind of like he s been coloring on his face with a brown marker but that s not it. He also has developed a fever of 102.8 last night and a headache. Do you think its related?
As per the history that you are giving, it seems like a fever with viral origin, but nothing to worry about. You should definitely try to lower down the fever as soon as possible when its that high, you can give your child over the counter anti-pyretic (fever medicine) depending on his weight (which you haven’t mentioned, otherwise I would have suggested you the dosage).
When the fever is that high you should try using a wet cloth and keep it on his head and wipe his body to lower down the fever. Most importantly do keep the hydration levels good. Mostly these are self limiting. In case it persists, do visit a child specialist near you as a physical examination will be needed in that case.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
