What Causes Pimples Under The Skin Of The Buttock?

I have had a small red area on left butt cheek with small type pimples! These pimples appear to be under the skin. I have had this for about 10 days. It appeared after shaving with a crappy razor and being in humid conditions plus traveling 20 plus hours! I have no itching but it is slightly tender. Could this be folliculitis?

Hi.
As per your case history you may be having folliculitis.
It probably develops due to sweat blocking hair follicle followed by bacterial colonisation.
My treatment advice is -
1. Wear loose clothes and if possible avoid much travelling.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on affected part.
3. For pain you can take NSAID like ibuprofen. Other treatment options include oral antibiotics like cefadroxyl, azithromycin, levofloxacin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
