What Causes Pinched Nerve In The Neck?

I am 37 and I am experiencing strong electric pulses or jolts throughout my body. I take no medication. This is 4th episode in the last 12 months. Recently, I believe I have a possible pinched nerve in my neck, however, I had a clean bill of health the 3 prior episodes. 11 years ago a lesion was found on my spinal cord and Transverse Myelitis was diagnosed and all associated symptoms disappeared after aggressive treatment. As a former professional athlete, I trained rigorously and competed at full speed with no problems. Wondering what my body is telling me.

Hi,

I think you should consult a neurologist and rule out if you are having any neuralgia or nerve related pain or any sort of epilepsy. Get a MRI of brain and spine done. Check your complete blood count, electrolytes, calcium and phosphate, thyroid function test. Do an EEG done. If all the reports are normal, then it might be a neuralgia. If any abnormalities ate there then it can be treated accordingly. You can take vitamin B12 supplement like Neurobion Forte for 1 month. Review with reports.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
