What Causes Pink And Brown Vaginal Bleeding?

I am due for my period in the next few days. I have been having pregnancy symptoms but I took plan less in less than 24 hours. Yesterday, I was having sex, and my boyfriend noticed I was bleeding. I went to the bathroom, and wAs bleeding alot. I noticed that it was a bright orange red color but nAturally I figured that it wAs my period. It only lasted for half an hour and then stopped. The rest of the night, I was spotting pink and brown blood and then it stopped completely. What is going on?

Hello,

The bleeding that you observed might be the bleeding that occurs after conceiving. It is called Implantation Bleeding. I would advise you to take a home pregnancy test to rule out the possibility of pregnancy from the cause. The home pregnancy test kit is available in all medical stores. The instructions are given on the pack. You have to urinate on the indicator area of the stick and wait for 5-10 minutes for the (+) or (-) sign to appear on the indicator area. (+) sign indicates positive test for pregnancy while (-) suggests a negative pregnancy test.

If you test negative and keep experiencing the same symptoms then it might be due to some hormonal imbalance in your blood or structural/functional disorder of the female reproductive system. In that case, you should visit a gynecologist for physical examination, blood test and an ultrasonography to reach a specific diagnosis and further management.
