My husband has pink areas on his face which do not seem to tan anymore and they are spreading. I am wondering if this is vertiligo and if it could be connected to HYPOthyroidism as he has gained weight and seems unable to loose it. Many thanks.

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
i think there is not so much to worry about this;
still there are some possibilities for which you might have to consult a dermatologist for examination or meven biopsy in rare occasion!
let him go for blood sugar and thyroid profile test and a skin scrapping examination that would guide you accordingly!
all the best!
