My husband has been taking Cipro for UTI for 3 days but had a slightly pinkish mucus at the end of his urine stream once today. He's been to our PPP several times in the last year when he detected slight pink in his urine and has not tested positive for UTI before. What could cause this?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per my surgical experience, the pink mucus in urine is due to urinary infection with cystitis giving shedding of epithelial cells in the urine.
Precise control with necessary antibiotics, urinary alkalizer and hydration with plenty of liquids will take care of the issue nicely.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
