What Causes Pinkish Discharge After Taking Duphaston?

Hi, I am going on a pilgrimage next week so I need to stop my periods. The doctore prescribed me duphaston to take twice a day, and start 5 days before I get my period so I started it on the 23rd day. However I noticed a brownish pinkish discharge today which I usually get before I start my menstual cycle. Does this mean I am getting my period as I am still taking Duphaston? I hope not as I need my cycle to be delays for another 8 days. Thanks

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. The dosage may not be sufficient to elevate the hormone levels effectively. This could be the cause of the spotting observed as breakthrough bleed. I would suggest increasing the dosage after informing your consultant. Sometimes, Medroxyprogesterone is more effective than micronized progesterone. The effect is also dependant on the BMI. Hope this helps.
