Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband had a colonoscopy today. Several polyps were removed. We were provided with pictures. The largest was 24 mm, the kind on a stem when I googled comparable pictures I was worried. Pathology report in a week. I m worried he may have cancer. What are your thoughts.?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history related to your husband. Yes, the multiple polyposis with larges polyp being 24 mm is indicative that it may be cancerous, although it is the histopathology reports that confirms or rules out the possibility. He has to undergo regular follow-up, blood tests of tumor markers. Regular colonoscopies. Colectomy if this turns out to be a cancer. CT scan and other relevant other investigations. Further management as per hte reports and treatment carried on.
