What Causes Popping Followed By Tight Pinching In Ribs After Sneezing?
Hi, I am a 21 year old athlete. I play rugby and two weeks ago I tackled a girl and she landed on my ribcage. It was sore for 2 days. I didn t rejoin practice until a week later and my ribs would only hurt after running a mile, like a dull continuous pain. Tonight, 2 weeks later, I was working at my barista job and I sneezed and hear and felt a pop in my ribs and now it is uncomfortably to take deep breaths and move my left arm and torso in some ways and I will often feel a tight pinch in my ribs when I do certain things. Is my rib cracked or did I tear something?
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got injury your rib cage by a girl who landed on your rib cage. It may be a muscular and soft tissue injury. However you should get chest x ray done to exclude rib fracture as you felt pop in your ribs and it is uncomfortable to deep breaths now. Treatment of it is rest, icing and analgesics (diclofenac ). Muscle relaxant such as thiocolchicoside also give relief. Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing.Breathing exercises are advisable. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
