My son is five a had right ear pain last week Monday. It turned out the ear was bright red inside. He has been on amoxicillin 250 mg twice a day nine days. Just now he is complaining of the same ear popping when swallowing. Just wondering if he needs to be seen again by the pediatrician. He has no other complaints. It just came out of the blue. He has one more dose of his medicine tonight.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood the history and your concerns about your son who is just 5 years old. The continuation of the antibiotic has not helped him to get a complete relief and hence has developed the popping of the ears and pain in the ear. Yes, you have to take him to the Doctor, preferably an ENT as he needs a clinical evaluation and examination for ENT and will be better than visiting the Pediatrician.
