I had a Pap Smear and it was normal but tested for high risk HPV. I have been married for 28 years and have not had another sexual partner. Due to my husbands illness, (Alzheimers), we have not had sex in over a year. I don t plan on having sexual activity but if I do could I infect someone with this finding? I am confused.
You haven't mentioned whether you have been positive for the above test. If you are not you don't have to worry.
Even if you are positive for the HPV your male partner does not have to worry because HPV doesn't have significant effect on male and virus would go away on their own but he can spread the disease to another female if he is promiscuous.
So my advice is if you are positive for HPV and having sexual intercourse use condoms. It would limit disease transmission and also you getting HPV or any other diseases.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further. Stay safe with safe sex.
