What Causes Positive Test Results For Syphilis Despite Taking Medication?
I took 6injections for syphilis treatment in 2016. I never checked again. Then recently like a month back i checked and still i was reacting positive. Then i have been on treatment again for 3weeks. And still i from the hospital and I'm positive. I feel bad. How long does it take after the treatment to recover completely
It depends upon at what stage of syphilis you were in at the time of treatment - early or late? Serology in early syphilis may become nonreactive within 6 to 8 months in case of early syphilis following treatment.
However, it will take more than a year to become nonreactive in cases of late syphilis and sometimes it may remain unchanged even after cure in case of late syphilis.
Not to bother about serology if you have completed the treatment as per the guidelines.
