What Causes Pounding Pain In The Left Side Of Head?

Husband has occasional pounding pain running along upper left side of head, front to back (for about two weeks). He has a regular doctors appt. Monday, but just want objective info. The first time this happened, it was so painful he almost went to ER, but pain subsided. He is a blood pressure patient, but has it under control. In my opinion he takes in way too much salt. Thanks

Hello,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Health Care Magic. I read your query and I understand your concern and the anguish that you are having

It seems that you have a migraine. A migraine occurs due to a trigger factor that is causing the headaches again and again. Here are a few triggers:
Colds
Fevers
Sunlight
Loud sounds

Here are a few things that you can try to help you:
Inhale steam mixed with Eucalyptus oil to clear the nasal passages
Take a Paracetamol 500 when you feel you are about to get a headache
Drink lots of water
Sleep well and get at least 8 hours of sleep a day

Follow up after 5 days.

Hope this helps you. Feel free to clarify further.
