My mother sees blood in her latrine.this is for second time first time doctor gave her a injection vitamin k and the blood stops.her endoscopy is right and the ultra sound scane tgt tests and the other tests are right .thrnpwhat is theproblem.pls tell me.i am very hopeful about your guideness.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
If vitamin K was prescribed then obviously your mom is having anticoagulant therapy and her coagulation status shold be corrected and then blood in stool may stop. If this doesnt happen then several other causes should be considered. In most cases causes of bleeding through rectum are benign and include hemorrhoids, anal fissure or rectal polyps. These are primarily treated with stool softener, diet and sitzbaths. If there is no improvement in next few weeks, then surgical management should be considered. Other causes may be more serious and include tumors or inflammatory bowel diseases and these should be ruled out with colonoscopy which must be done if there is low blood count present or rapid weight loss. Otherwise, you can see if conservative therapy will help and consult proctologist if necessary
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
