What Causes Pressure And Blockage In Ears?

Four occasions I visit my GP, first ear infection...OK...Then I have acute nausea and vomiting, jab in bitt, tablets. All seems OK. Second visit....no sign of visible ear infection, still nauseous, more tablets, sent home. Third visit...not ear infection but Viral Infection. Ear (L) blocked causing pressure and headaches. New tablets given and nasal spray. Visit four will be possibly later today or tomorrow as I still have build up in ear(L) and head ache. Occurring every time I have this ear infection viral is a very intense pain in my lower spine!!! So with five different medications, over a period of four weeks, I still have this annoyance mostly in the left ear. What is it, could it be??? I want it gone NOW. Regards, Esme

ENT Specialist 's  Response

Hi ,
You could be having a Evolving Secretory Otitis media which could be secondary to Eustachian tube dysfunction .In view of the Nausea & vomiting you could be having a Inner ear disease . I suggest you meet a ENT Specialist you need further evaluation - Audiometry & Impedance to confirm diagnosis .
