What Causes Pressure Behind The Left Eye, Dizziness And Mild Forearm Numbness?
Today on my commute home I was talking on the phone with my father when I got a rush to the head unlike anything I have ever had. I have a history of anxiety but this was not anxiety. It felt like my blood pressure skyrocketed or something. I felt immediate pressure behind my left eye and felt like a nose bleed was coming. I also had slight numbness in my right forearm. I thought I was going to die which triggered my fight or flight. I stepped on the gas thinking that I was headed for the fire station. By the time I got to town all symptoms had subsided except some slight dizziness. I went home to relax. I had to use the bathroom and saw stars while on the toilet. Feel okay now. I am afraid it it will happen again. Have had rushes like this before and figured it was anxiety related. Today s event was terriying. Im overweight. 6 0 300lbs. 31 years old. No significant health history other than anxiety. Any suggestions?
Your symptoms could be related to blood pressure spikes. Anxiety can also trigger this situation. If these episodes keep repeating, I would recommend consulting with your GP for a physical check up and some tests: - a chest X ray study - complete blood count - kidney and liver function tests - fasting glucose - thyroid hormone levels. A close monitoring of your blood pressure is necessary too. A Holter for blood pressure may be needed. Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
