General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. The pressure in chest & palpitation is a type of premenstrual syndrome- due to brains unusal reaction to normally changing menstrual hormones.(Premenstrual dystrophic disorder).. & it resolves after menses. It results in - - Abdominal bloating, Which you feel like pressure on chest. - Palpitation - It has a psychological componant, which make the symptoms aggrevated. It is not normal & needs to be treated after investigations. Please consult an endocrnologist/ psychiatrist & get proper advise after investigations.( Antidepressants/ oral contraceptives/ danazols are uaually advised depending on the expert's opinion. Thanks. * Just to relieve your doubt, it's worth to get a cardiac check up too.
