I ve had this problem for several years now. I call them spells! I get this pressure in my head, seems like a build up, turns to a since of being dizzy or confusion. Last for about 30 seconds then I get a felling of a rush sensation through my body then it ends. Some days I get as many as 10-20 and others only a few. When they happen they seem to be close together. Doctor thought some type of seizure and gave me meds that did absolutely nothing. 3 years of this make me really depressed at times. Have history of HBP but check it while these spells happen and see no correlation. Was sent to ear, nose and throat to check equilibrium and check out ok. I get these when sitting totally still as well as moving. Any advise would be grateful.
Hello dear, Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation- The semiology of the episodes you have described appear to be complex seizure types. Some anticonvulsants may have not worked out but it does not rule out the seizures in any way. Hypertension may not have any correlation. I advise you to get a Electroencephalogram(EEG) done during typical days when you are getting many of these spells.Additionally,Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) Brain with 'Epilepsy protocol' should be done. That should perhaps settle the diagnosis or at least rule out if they are not seizures. Please get in touch with a neurologist. I hope it helps.
