What Causes Pressure In Mid-sternum Region After Having Endoscopy?

My daughter had an endoscopy yesterday for reflux and since last evening she has been experiencing pressure in her mid-sternum region. She is having some difficulty with swallowing and is complaining that her back is uncomfortable. Not sure what to do, if this is normal or not

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.

Thanks for writing to HCM

Yes this can be common after procedure.
I will advise to start antacids [proton pump inhibitors like] rabeprazole 20 mg twice a day.
Sucralfate will protect gastric mucosa and will give protective covering.

If hyperacidity is corrected altered mouth taste will return to normal.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
