What Causes Pressure In The Ear?

I stuck a q tip in my ear a few weeks ago and it bled for a while then healed and scabbed over. A few days ago I was picking at the scab with a q tip and felt something give. I can hear fine but whenever I swallow I experience a slight popping in my ear and there is a bit of pressure whenever I try and clear my ears. Is this serious?
