Hello, I m am a M age 34 ht. 70 in. 195 lbs. 4 days ago I sneezed. When I did, there was a lot of pressure on my throat, I looked up to stretch out my neck and there was a snap sound. Directly after (within 5sec.) I was severely horse (and still am) and it felt like someone stabbing me in the throat with a knife anytime I swallow. I used to hold my sneezes back but have stopped doing that for a while now. I wasn t sick then nor am I now. The pain in my throat is not IN my throat but the muscles surrounding it. The area that is sore is just below the adams apple. Any ideas on what I may have done?
There is a possibility of stretch if muscles around the throat after sneezing. It may lead to pain.
Some times it may cause headache and subconjunctival bleed or intracranial or intranasal bleeding.
So avoid it. Use tablet paracetamol thrice a day for five days. Drink hot water and relax. If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
