I had a c-section 2 months 3 days ago. 6 weeks after I had my pap and check up with my OB. I was put on the mini pill. I took it for two weeks and had no problems. 1 week ago my husband and I had intercourse and I started to spot. But for the last 5 days I ve been bleeding very heavily. Needing to change a pad every hour. I stopped taking the mini pill 5 days ago because my milk supply became decreased excessively and I ve been breast feeding and pumping since day 1 of my sons birth. I m very worried and I m in a completely different state then my OB. Please help.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. During the first couple of cycles after the pill usage, menstrual irregularities are common and they include heavy/prolonged bleeding, inter-menstrual spotting, irregular bleeding/spotting, absent periods etc. This could be the reason for your bleeding, the added factor being that you have recently had a delivery and are lactating. I would ask you to report to your obstetrician and get treatment for the bleeding as well as an alternate mode of contraception. Hope this helps.
