Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 60 and have had a cough for over well over 1 year, with mucus. I also have a lot of stomach pain. Headaches, tired all the time. Shortness of breath. Can not remember anything, even if I just heard it, read it or did it in recent days. I feel like I am going crazy!! I have wondered if it is something in my house causing this?? My husband lives here and so does my adult daughter. They don't seem to have a problem. I am here all the time and they work. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.

What Causes Prolonged Cough And Headaches?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Chronic cough may be due to interstitial lung disease or infections or chronic obstructive pulmonary syndromes etc. Please avoid allergen, avoid cool drinks and frozen water. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use bronchodilators or expectorants. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician, he will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.
