General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your concern. * After child birth, menstrual cycles are irregular, profuse/ scanty, sometimes absent -due to weakness/hormonal changes in breast feeding. And in such a case medicines like pause is given. * In some cases, when uterus is not fully contracted & hard like a stone- retained parts of placenta are expelled with the bleeding-this can be helped by drug like Methargin * Some times bleeding can not be controlled by above medicines & doctor has to regulate the bleeding by certain hormone Progesteron. - - Pause :has an ingradient that stops excessive bleeding by helping blood clotting. Usually it is needed in a short course to arrest excessive vaginal bleeding after child birth. It is safe to take it after delivery - any urinary problem/ problem in color identification needs to be reported to doctor. ** If your bleeding is not controlled with Pause/it recurs soon- please visit your treating doctor- for evaluation & giving you medicines as per need. Thanks.
