14 year old boy getting loose stools for around twenty days. intially watery followed by loose stools sometimes associated with mucus and blood.treated with flagyl,ornidazole and lactobacillus for 10 days,stool examination shows presence of pus cells and bacilli.but still it is not yet controlled

The diarrhea may not be due to the protozoa infection but it could be due to the bacterial infection. Hence, it may not respond to the given medicine of antiprotozoal drug but it is better to treat it with Ciprofloxacin according to weight. It is advisable to get done the stool culture sensitivity test.
