What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Inspite Of Being On Ortho- Cyclen?
I have been bleeding (vagina) for a month, it is light one day next day bright red again, then it stop for one day, then start again, I am on othro cycles birth control for years, I been to hospital, was told to take 600 mg of Motrin. Motrin not helping, no infections, was told blood count a little higher than normal. I do not know what to do.
Ortho-Cyclen is a combination ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate that prevent ovulation and also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to enter the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.
Irregular menstrual bleeding or spotting is one of the known side effect of this drug.
Motrin is ibuprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is taken to reduce fever and treat pain or inflammation. It is better you stop taking this drug as there is no indication as such. Sometimes, this drug can cause bleeding tendndencies as easy bruising is one of the reported side effect.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
