i had a micarriage around november 2014 im blleding rite now but i been bleeding for almost 4 weeks, im thinking this is my period but so long? i was taking the pill but i stop taking it like 3 days ago to see if my blleding stop but no im still bleeding why?

Hi, I understand your concern. Excessive bleeding following miscarriage can be due to- - Retained fetal parts/incomplete abortion. Here bleeding will not stop unless there is complete expulsion of products of conception. You are having it for 4 weeks! Long standing incomplete abortion may result in sticking few parts to uterine cavity.In such case, D&C ( miner surgery) is done to remove the products fully- thus controlling bleeding. - Menstrual period may get disturbed after abortion( due to hormonal imbalance)- this may result in excessive bleeding after complete abortion.A course of cyclical hormonal therapy is advised to such patients. * You should get your abdominal sonography done to differentiate between two. * consult a gynecologist for specific management thereafter.
