What Causes Puffiness And Swelling In The Eyes?

my one son stepped on the other son s head on Friday- there was a rather large bump on Saturday which we iced. On Sunday til today his eye has been very puffy- it was worse the last two days but today it is still swollen under his eye. Does he need to see a doctor, or will the swelling continue to decrease?

Hello,

If there is a swelling under the eye witout any disturbance of vision/pain or tenderness around the eye, then it is most likely to be a bruise. It should disappear over a week's time with ice packs alone. It tends to change color from red to purple to green before it disappears.

Regards
