What Causes Puffy Eyes And Redness In Kids?

my son is 2 1/2 yr. old; his right eye is a little puffy on the top, above his eye lashes and is a little red. What should I do? The first of Dec. my son who is 4 1/2 yr old. ; his left eye got red and then swelled a day later then a day later it was twice as big. I took him into his doctor and they gave him 3 shots in 3 days and his eye was healed in a week. I m wondering if my 2 1/2 yr old son is getting the same thing.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern. It looks like your son has preseptal cellulitis (inflammation around eyes) which needs to be attended. He may require few days of oral or IV antibiotics. I would suggest you consult the pediatrician as early as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nirubhan Bharathy,
