What Causes Pulsating Or Throbbing Sensation On Left Top Side Of Scalp?
I have this pulsating or throbbing sensation on the left top side of my scalp. It started this morning and have been coming and going all thru the day. The sensation occurs on the same location and stays on for a few seconds or until I press on it with my finger. What could it be?
First of all,you should exclude a serious illness namely, giant cell arteritis by examine the area in the front of tour left ear, if the doctor found a rope-like material and the pulse of the temporal artery was absent, you could have this disease and you should do an ESR and take Prednisolone 20 mg for 12-24 months, besides anticoagulants such as Aspirin 160 mg twice a day after meals and Warfarin.
If you are a woman and take oral contraceptive pills or hormonal replacement therapy, you should ask a gynecologist for help. The routine check of blood pressure is mandatory. If you did not have any disease or take the pills, you could have migraine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
