What Causes Puncture Like Bruising On Shin?

I noticed what looks like a puncture or bit on my left shin after working in the yard all day. I didn t notice anything specific but did notice that my shin felt like it had been bruised. And later as I looked at it, it actually appears to have been punctured. The area was/is tender and has had some puss coming out. The odd thing is it has a red ring/red thin line around the center where the puss is oozing. Male/54

The lesions described suggests that you might be having secondary infection following the abrasion. The abrasion causes a break in the continuity of the skin which predisposes to infection.You need to apply a topical antibacterial cream like mupirocin on the affected area to reduce the risk of developing secondary infection.Also you need to get vaccinated for tetanus if you haven't already been.
