What Causes Pungent Smell To The Sperm And What Cures It?

Hi, I just had intercourse with my partner and she mentioned that my sperm had a foul smell, I had never noticed it until she brought it to my attention and sure enough when I smelt it, there was this fishy smell. Please what could be the cause of this and how do I manage it.

Hello Thanks for query.

Pungent smell of semen is mostly due to infection either in Seminal Vesicle or Prostate.

Get your semen examination and semen culture done to find out the organisms and antibiotics to which hey are sensitive to.so that you can take appropriate antibiotic to combat infection.

In the mean while take antibiotics like Doxicycline twice daily and later on wsitch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report .

You will need to take medications for 4 weeks,
