hi, around 3 days ago i was out in the sun and managed to get sunburnt on my lower leg, since ive uped my water intake and when i hav nt had my leg in a bucket of water ive been slapping on lots of alo... im now getting a little worried as after a day at work (on my feet) its turned purple?!?!?! is that normal or should i be concerned??
hi thanks for sharing your problem here in this forum... you got sunburn..don't worry its very superficial...in your case only a superficial layer of cells is damaged so the skin looks purple..just you need to is to wash it and apply antibiotic and steroid ointment..do use some anti inflamatry like ibuprofen and do keep the legs elevated at night by placing a pillow beneath it,,use sunblock once the healing occur...thanks dr ihsan
Hi, welcome to HCM, Post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation is very common after sun burn. It will take time to become normal. Apply sunscreen with aloe Vera 2-3 times a day. Wear full length lower and protect it from sun. Apply glycolic acid lotion twice daily, it will fasten your recovery. This will help you. Thanks
