What Causes Purple Swelling On Knuckles With Joint And Elbow Pain?
I have been to a rhuemotologist in several occasions. The have taken blood several times with no answers. At this time I have 3 knuckles that are reddish to purple in color and are swollen with like lumps. They hurt to touch them on anything. For example when playing basketball it hurts extremely to for the ball to hit my hand. Just bending my fingers back slightly hurts. After doing any sport my joints hurt extremely. Also at the moment my elbow hurts extremely when I try to extend it out. This happens to my elbows several times a month and last about a week. It also happens to my knees usually switching back and forth.
The swelling of the knuckles with the pain in the joints is suggestive of arthritis. X-ray of the area will help in proper diagnosis. Mild pain killers can help till then.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
