my belly button has a foul order. There is a pus coming out of it and it is red around the area, The skin is peeling. I was it daily but it stays the same. I have a hard time walking due to the pain I went to the Dr. and he prescribed Sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim but I still have the symptoms.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Pus discharge from the belly button may be due to bacterial or fungal infection. Umbilical cysts or hernia or diabetes etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Just collect umbilical secretions and send for culture sensitivity. Use local anti bacterial or anti fungal infection cream . use oral antibiotic. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
