What Causes Random Erections?

Hi, I'm a 19 year old. And lately whenever I've talked to my girlfriend, I've gotten random erections.. I was wondering if I was to "release" more.. such as masturbating or having some fun. Would that reduce my chances for it to erect? Or will it make it more often?

it is not an abnormal phenomenon...
have control over yourself...maintain calmness when you are with her...try dierting your imaginations...things must improve....
