What Causes Random Rise In WBC Levels?

My mom is loosing weight 8 9 lbs in 6 months, loss of appetite also. Her cbc was normal 7 days back but 4 days back wbc was 17000 and 2 days back it was 15000. No fever no signs of infection, what could it be? How can one s wbc increase within 1 week?Worried!

There are many causes of rise in WBC count. Infection is one amongst them. There is possibility of leukaemia also.
